Frequently Asked QuestionsQ: How do I register for trainings sponsored by the SECT Center?A: You will first need a brochure. Brochures are posted on the website under Training six weeks prior to the training date. You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to download brochures from this site. If you are unable to access brochures from the site, you may call us at (765) 641-8246 or email us to request one. Registrations must be pre-paid; that is, payment must accompany registration. Therefore, payment by check must be made via mail. Credit card payment may be done via fax or phone. There is a price discount ("Early Bird") if you register at least two weeks prior to the training date. You will receive a registration confirmation via mail or fax once we have received your registration and payment. You may elect to register at the training if you are unable to process payment prior to the training date. However, at-the-door registrations will be taken on a space-available basis and are subject to the full price. Q: How do I access supported employment services near me? A: Currently there are 28 mental health centers providing supported employment services in Indiana. Click on the location nearest you to get the specific address and contact information for that service provider. There are no catchment areas for mental health centers, so you can choose where you can receive services if there is more than one service provider in your area. Indiana Mental Health Centers Map Q: Where is the nearest Vocational Rehabilitation Services Office? A: Vocational Rehabilitation Services provides services based on your county of residence and/or zip code. Click on the location listed nearest to your county of residence to get the specific address and contact information for that office. For counties with multiple locations listed (e.g., Marion county), look at the zip code listing to see which office serves your area. Vocational Rehabilitation Region/Area Map Q: How can I get training provided at my agency? A: On-site training may be available for mental health centers, subject to the availability of trainers. Trainings may also be available to other organizations for a fee1 . Popular on-site training topics include:
Q: What is results-based funding and how will it affect me? A: Results-based funding is a payment system being introduced to supported employment and job placement services that are contracted with Vocational Rehabilitation Services in Indiana. Under this payment system, a supported employment service provider is paid only when certain goals are achieved for the persons served. For example, the provider is paid when the individual gets a job, when s/he has maintained that job for a specified period of time, etc., instead of being paid at an hourly rate, which is the current method of payment. Vocational Rehabilitation Services plans to begin this new payment system on July 1, 2006. In July 2002, the SECT Center launched a research pilot project involving five Indiana mental health centers to compare results-based funding with traditional fee-for-service (hourly rate) funding to determine its effectiveness, differences in service provision, and associated issues. 1Funding for the SECT Center is specifically targeted to services to the Indiana community mental health centers, and costs associated with such training are generally built into the grant budget. Therefore, other organizations may be asked to purchase training and/or other associated costs (e.g., meeting space, food) that would not already be covered under the SECT Center's grant agreement. |
